Enoch Wan and Jace Cloud. Above all, the Triune God calls His servants to be faithful and to glorify Him. Therefore, the “glory of God” should be the underlying philosophy of all Christian faith and practice. However, sometimes Christian endeavors can be rooted in pragmatic, managerial, and anthropocentric foundations. In order to address this disconnect, a new paradigm needs to be developed and used for proper mission strategy and evaluation.
This book makes the case that the imago Dei can only be properly understood in connection with the missio Dei and the gloria Dei. “Glorifying God” is accomplished as the image-bearers of God are sent on the missio Dei in order to spread the glory of God throughout the earth as they live out God’s truth, goodness, and beauty in the world. In this sense, the integration of the image of God, mission of God, and glory of God are combined into the new paradigm of “Doxological Missiology” and applied in theory, motivation, and practice.
